Ok, so for the last few months we’ve been working with different fabrics for blankets, most don’t work with our hemstitching machines, basically, the fabric gets torn into pieces when we try.  We’re thrilled that our machines like the Minky micro fiber material!  Your baby will love to be wrapped in this deliciously soft blanket, we’ve chosen pink rose buds for girls and green dots for boys with a brown backing.

TNNA Winter 2010

Just in case you’re wondering, The National  Needlearts Association (TNNA) trade show just happened last weekend.  US and International Manufacturers bring their newest products for your delight.  These are our new products for the first quarter of the year, wait, we have more, we are in the process of finishing our photo shoot and they will be uploaded by Friday.  For your delight, we’d like to introduce our newest patterns, Daddy’s Helper, Hot Cars and Flower Power, available in kits and blankets, bibs and burps.  Available now!

A new year brings many things, hope, new beginnings, new goals, and for us new products.  This month we are releasing a new pattern for boys, Jumbo TotoBags for those extra-large projects such as Afghans, sweaters, baby blankets,  quilting projects and more.  Of course you can also use them for your weekend trips!

If you want a quick project for the holidays this is it!  Creating this single crochet edging on your blanket is a snap…that’s right, all we did is make one round of single crochets around our blanket with Fleece yarn, that’s right, you read it correctly, Fleece Yarn; use crochet hook size 5/1.7mm.  Visit your local independent yarn store and ask them for Fleece Yarn, you will love crocheting this soft, fluffy, thick edging around your baby’s blanket.

We’re so excited to use a different fabric for our hemstitched products, our hemstitching machine prefers to work with flannel only, whenever we try a different material it throws the biggest fits and decides not to sew!  For this very reason, we are thrilled to say that organic cotton terry is now one of our fabrics of choice.
