Hello, I’m Ammee - Ready to Crochet Hemstitched Baby Blanket Kits
Hello, I’m Ammee.  I’m an entrepreneur at heart, and have been since first grade when I sat up a table in front of my house and sold candied apples.  I design, I like to make things, and I love the adventure of starting a new business.  I’m many things, but most of all, I love being a mother and a new grandmother!  I lived in San Diego for sixteen years, six years ago we move back to Highland, Utah.  My husband grew up around here, and when we were trying to find a better place to raise our family, moving back home seemed like the right thing to do.

I love to crochet, travel, and Jack Johnson’s music, my son has all his CDs.  When I get around to it, I love to make cards, gardening (I’m planning on learning this spring, I’ll be growing a “back porch” herb garden!  I already bought the seeds).  I converted last year to living “green”, bought a Prius, which I absolutely love, and I’m definitely trying to go green on everything!

Did I say I’m a designer?  Yeah, I have done extensive work in the scrapbook arena and now I’m into textiles.  By the way, all those emails going around to boycott gas companies, don’t forward them, it’s not a good plan; the best solution is to consume less gas; walk, share rides, take the trolley, use public transportation or bike!  Most of us are not willing to do that though; the law of supply and demand is written in stone, if the demand is high, prices will go up, so it is with gas, we just don’t seem to get enough of it, so, prices just keep going upL.

I believe we are all just beans in a jar.  What?  Yes, I believe we have a lot more things in common than we think.  Let me explain, the story goes that, a young woman joined a woman’s club; when she arrived to the first gathering she realized she was younger, from a different culture, and with different interests, she thought; and probably with less money than the rest of the women in the room.  A clear jar sat in the middle of the table in front of the room, and a bag of jelly beans next to it; the hostess stood up and explained “I want to prove to you that we are all just beans in a jar” she said, “I want you to share something you love, or hate, something you’ve accomplished, or something you have failed at, and put one bean in the jar.  If someone else in the room has done the same thing I want you to get up and put one bean in the jar too” she said.  “I’ll start with something about myself, if that’s ok”.  “The first boy I fell in love with never even knew I existed”, the women in the room chuckled, many of them stood up and added one bean to the jar.  Another woman stood up and said: “I speak a second language”, other women stood up and added their beans to the jar.  Another one said “I love shopping for shoes”.  The time went by fast, by the end of the gathering, the jar was full of beans and the young woman realized she had so much in common with these women, she felt she belonged.

I hope through this blog, we will find that we have much more in common than we think; and even though we come in a variety of colors and flavors, we are still, after all, delicious jelly beans.  I’m happy to be hereJ

I am SO glad that I stumbled across your site! Your projects are adorable! I love the edge around the bear bib. Would you be willing to share your pattern with me? Pretty please? 🙂

      Hi justbritt!
I’d love to share my patterns, they are original designs, meaning, I didn’t have a book to go by, so I’ll have to put the instructions together and make sure they are correct before I post them or send them to you. Please keep checking back my blog for the pattern; or if you’d like, I can email you when it’s up. I’m thinking it will take me until this Friday to have it up, I hope that’s ok. Thanks for your nice comments, please let others know about our cool stuff:)

I was watching your video on how to make crocheted flowers, the pink one. i love the pattern and loved the video. I am hearing disabled and could not “hear” the commentating. Do you think you would share the written instructions with me? I am trying to finish a flower for a headband i knitted. my daughter is going back to college Sunday and I wanted to finish it for her.
